Until not long ago, I wouldn’t have dined nor suggested eating in Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood because it was just too touristy and the culinary offer reflected the “tourist taste” too much. Thankfully, things recently have been changing, several good restaurants have opened and since it’s still a popular district among travelers, many have been wondering where they could try the best pasta in Trastevere.
Nowadays, the food scene in Trastevere is pretty multifaceted and diverse. You can explore anything from Roman to Italian to international cuisine but also great artisan gelato and notable street food. This is very good news because the area is so pleasant to walk around and spend a day out, and knowing that you can also have an authentic meal will certainly give you peace of mind. So if you are ready to tuck into great pasta, mark these names!

Best pasta in Trastevere – The restaurants to jot down
Eggs
Eggs makes one of my favorite carbonara, actually, many types of carbonara to live up to their name! But since their menu has so many pasta courses, here you can really find what you like.
They all have some type of eggs in them, whether it’s ordinary eggs, duck eggs, or bottarga mullet roe. But don’t worry, their menu also includes mains and they are open to prepare pasta and soups without eggs!
This restaurant is located in the very heart of Trastevere so from here you can start off and visit the whole neighborhood. Keep in mind, however, that it’s not too large and it’s very popular so booking at least the day before, or even a couple of days before in the high season, is recommended.

Le Mani in Pasta
I tried this restaurant right when they opened and it was love at first sight. They serve a mix of Sardinian and Apulian specialties and the ingredients they use are always fresh and high-quality.
Specialized in seafood and fish-based dishes, their pasta fares are excellent. From lobster to bottarga and artichokes, to mussels and clams, here, you can’t go wrong.
Le Mani in Pasta restaurant is located on the other side of Viale Trastevere from the most touristy part of the neighborhood, but it’s very close to Santa Cecilia in Trastevere Basilica, a wonderful, lesser-known church in the area that I definitely suggest visiting.
Da Enzo al 29
This is one of the most famous restaurants in Trastevere and one of the historic traditional eateries in Rome.
At Enzo’s, you will find the typical dishes of Roman gastronomy so if you are looking for great traditional pasta in Trastevere, here you can order anything from gricia to carbonara, amatriciana and cacio e pepe, and be sure you will enjoy a great meal.
Apart from the most famous Roman pasta dishes, they also serve pasta seasoned with the sauce of the main courses such as coda alla vaccinara, if you want to try something “stronger”.

Spirito DiVino
Apart from being a good restaurant in the neighborhood, Spirito DiVino is also interesting to visit. Built on the site of an ancient synagogue, in its rich wine cellar, you can still see the bricks and arches of the original structure.
Everything they serve is homemade and they pride themselves on not using any pre-cooked, semi-finished products prepared elsewhere, or frozen ingredients.
Their pasta dishes reflect the fresh ingredients and the freshly-made sauce so you can be sure that here you will enjoy a great meal in a fascinating, historic environment.

Mare Nostrum
We mentioned Mare Nostrum among our favorite seafood restaurants in Rome and we confirm this. But since their pasta dishes are so good and original, we order one every time we go there.
Along with the dishes that are always on their menu, they also frequently add courses depending on the catch of the day, and this is also reflected in their pasta offer.
The restaurant is located quite at the beginning of the touristy part of Trastevere. After lunch, you can explore the neighborhood and even go up the Janiculum Hill.
