Located on the other side of the Vatican City from Prati and Trionfale neighborhoods, Hotel Paolo II is close to San Pietro train station where you can catch a train to many other districts such as Ostiense and Testaccio (also a connection with metro line B), Tiburtina as well as the line A of the metro with one stop to Valle Aurelia.
Going towards the Vatican, on roads like Via di Porta Cavalleggeri and Via delle Fornaci, you will find several bars and restaurants, many pretty touristy but some worth a try. We had a nice fish-based meal at “I Quattro Mori Hostaria” (Via di Santa Maria delle Fornaci 8).
The bus that you will find from Stazione San Pietro all the way to Termini station through the city center is the 64: very handy, you will likely take it many times but be careful to your belongings as it’s a pickpocket’s favorite.

This neighborhood is central but relaxing, you are close to the metro line A (Cipro station), nice groceries including the huge Mercato Trionfale local food market and NaturaSì organic store (Via Bettolo 44), perfect if you want to do your shopping and make your meals at home instead of dining every day out.

Some of the groceries also close to this apartment are Carrefour and the discount Todis, where you find good prices and some good products, also in their organic section.
The neighborhood is central but also residential so you will have a good glimpse into the local life with the benefit of easily reaching the most popular landmarks.
The Vatican Museums are easy to reach with a short stroll and if one day you don’t feel like cooking, your house is surrounded by local restaurants where you can have a nice meal without spending too much.

Close to Piazza Risorgimento and a few minutes walk from St. Peter’s Square, Le Cupoline is one of the favorite apartments in Rome near the Vatican.
Close to Ottaviano metro station, the building is between Via Ottaviano and Via Cola di Rienzo, two shopping streets with clothes and shoe stores to meet every preference.
