After almost ten years of wandering, living as an expat and enjoying a downright nomadic lifestyle, I finally came to the conclusion that in order to better organize my future adventures, I need a base, and since I know and love Rome, and I live not far from its international airport that connects to city to the rest of the world, I thought this was the perfect compromise for me.
With this blog, I’m hoping to picture Rome under many aspects, its art, and history without doubt, but also its people, its quickest traditions and customs, the restaurants and the best tours I would recommend in town, trying to capture its touristy as well as its more offbeat side. Because, in case you were wondering, yes, even a popular destination such as the eternal city has some lesser-known spots.
This blog was launched only recently, so while I’m already updating and posting, its layout is still very much a work in progress. Please, bear with me while I tweak it here and there to make it the closest thing to the idea I have in mind. In the meantime, the best thing you can do is to subscribe to Rome Actually feed and follow my Facebook page (facebook.com/romeactually) that I update not only with my new posts but also with all the news about the city I find on the net.
Without boring you with the usual “about me” essay, I’ll just show you a short photo reportage of my journey, from my college years up to today. Enjoy the ride!
